Introduction of Tungsten Carbide Welding Tips

Hard alloy welded tips or tungsten carbide brazed inserts/tips are a part of the tungsten carbide brazed

turning tool, which is made by connecting the hard alloy welded tips and the ordinary structural steel cutter rod through welding. Its advantages are simple structure, convenient manufacturing, good tool rigidity, and flexible use, making it widely used.

Application scope:tungsten carbide welding blade is a common metal cutting tool blade on cutting machine tools, usually used on turning and milling cutters. Suitable for processing various types of steel parts, cast iron, non-ferrous metals and alloys.

Product properties: Hard alloy welded blades have high hardness, wear resistance, and heat resistance, and are made by high-temperature sintering of WC (tungsten carbide) and CO (cobalt) powders with high wear and heat resistance. Tungsten cobalt type blades, referred to as YG according to the national standard, correspond to the international nominal K class. This type of cemented carbide blade is used for processing and producing short chips of black metal, non-ferrous metal, and non-metallic materials, such as cast iron, aluminum alloy, copper alloy, plastic, adhesive wood, etc. Commonly used brands include YG6/YG8, etc.

Characteristics of Cemented Carbide Brazed Tips :

Tungsten Carbide Brazed Tips have several characteristics that make them highly desirable for various applications:
1. Hardness: Tungsten carbide is one of the hardest materials known, with a hardness of around 9 on the Mohs scale. This makes tungsten carbide brazed tips extremely wear-resistant and able to withstand high temperatures and abrasive forces.

2. Heat resistance: Tungsten carbide has a high melting point of around 2,870°C (5,200°F), which allows tungsten carbide brazed tips to maintain their integrity even at high temperatures. This makes them suitable for use in high-speed cutting and drilling applications.

3. Toughness: Despite its hardness, tungsten carbide is also known for its toughness. It can withstand impacts and shocks without breaking or chipping, making tungsten carbide brazed tips highly durable and long-lasting.

4. Corrosion resistance: Tungsten carbide is highly resistant to corrosion, which makes tungsten carbide brazed tips suitable for use in harsh environments or with corrosive materials.

5. Versatility: Carbide brazed tips can be used in a wide range of applications, including cutting, drilling, milling, and turning. They can be brazed onto various tool bodies or holders, allowing for versatility in different machining operations.

6. Precision: Cemented carbide brazed tips can be manufactured with high precision, ensuring consistent and accurate machining results. This makes them suitable for applications that require tight tolerances and high-quality finishes.

7. Cost-effectiveness: While carbide welding inserts may have a higher initial cost compared to other cutting tool materials, their long lifespan and durability make them cost-effective in the long run. They can outperform and outlast other materials, reducing the need for frequent tool changes and increasing productivity.
